Origins of the Air Max 97 shoe

Nike's revolutionary Air-Sole unit was incorporated into Nike shoes in 1978. In 1987, the Nike Air Max 1 first featured a visible Air bubble in the heel. Now, in addition to feeling the comfort of Air-Sole technology, everyone could also see it in action. Two years after visible forefoot air was introduced with the Nike Air Max 95, the Nike Air Max 97 arrived with the first-ever full-length unit of the shoe.
